Worry free newborn sessioN
When parents book a newborn session, one of the most common worries I hear is: “What if my baby is fussy?” or “What if the older siblings don’t cooperate?”
Let me reassure you right away — you don’t need to worry about any of that.
As a mom and a former teacher, I’ve seen just about everything when it comes to babies and kids. Over the years photographing newborns and families, I’ve learned that every child has their own personality, their own pace, and their own little moods. That’s completely normal — and it’s something I fully expect when I walk into a session.
Newborns might need to eat, cuddle, or take a little time to settle. Older siblings might feel shy, energetic, or simply not interested at first. None of this is a problem. In fact, it’s all part of the process.
Because of my experience as both a mother and a teacher, I come prepared with a lot of patience and plenty of tricks up my sleeve. I know how to gently guide little ones, keep things playful, and create an environment where everyone feels comfortable. Sometimes that means turning things into a game, sometimes it means giving kids a little break, and sometimes it simply means letting them be themselves.
The best moments often happen when we let go of expectations and allow things to unfold naturally. Some of the sweetest photos come from those in-between moments — a sibling sneaking in a kiss, a baby stretching after a nap, or a giggle that wasn’t planned.
Your only job during the session is to relax and enjoy this special season with your family. I’ll take care of the rest.
